I am getting ready to convert and minor edit the family VHS tapes. I have captured the first 3 and have a question. I see how to trim the beginning and end cuts but how do I split or cut in the middle without losing anything?

You're using VW Movie Creator correct? Movie Creator doesn't have a timeline, so you have to edit as follows
You can drag as many copies of the video onto the storyline that you need, then adjust the duration of each one until you get the scenes you want.
For example, drag video 1 onto the storyline at the top of the screen. Trim the beginning if necessary. Trim the end where you want the first scene/clip to end. ( Making note of the time where you Mark End helps make this process quicker ).
Now drag video 1 onto the storyline again. Go to the point where you trimmed off the end before. Trim the beginning and end points again....... repeat as necessary.
VideoWave is an editing tool and you're not changing the original video. You're creating an editing file which will tell the program how to Make Movie.
Does that help?
