I have been using this program for 6 months with no problems.  Two weeks ago I tried to burn a DVD-R and the program looked as though it were working but when it finished the disc stayed in the drive and there was nothing on it.

I have tried a clean install.
I have tried 3 different brands of DVD-R.
I have updated my DVD driver.
Nothing seems to help.

I did a clean reinstall today and now it is doing other things. The shortcut on the desktop doesn't work.

If it worked for 6 months with no problem, you need to track down what you did just before you discovered it won't work anymore.

Other things that you need to do are:  Check for viruses, malware/spyware, and defrag your hard drive.

I was using MyDVD8
I had this happen to me too...I actually had to remove my drives etc and reset them back before the software would recognize the Drive again...I too was using DVD+R.  I have a 3GB DVD ready to burn and after 6 hours of preparation time to burn the program thought it had done the job but nothing was on my DVD... :)
