CD not recognised in drive

Hi Can anyone assist - I have recently purchased Media Creator 9 and the problem I am now having is that when I have collated the tracks that I want to burn to disc, every time that I put a cd into the drive Roxio is telling me that it is not the correct medium.......any suggestions :)
