Does the mp3 file play fine in Sound Editor or any audio player in your PC?

I don't know what else to suggest but slideshow project is better done using Videowave. It gives you more control and flexibility.

Since the number of photos is manageable, you may want to try creating the slideshow using Videowave. Try creating a slideshow of a few photos first and add the mp3 file in the music track. Play it back to check for any problem. If you're happy, you can put all the photos and your music and enhance the production using texts, transitions and/or overlays.

What is the source of the mp3? Was it an online (download) purchase?
