Microsoft encapsulate their MPEG2 TV recordings (created by their Media Center software) in a proprietary format called DVR-MS. This is much like Elgato who also wrap their MPEG2 recordings in a proprietary format.
While Toast 8 can process Elgato EyeTV recordings, I get the impression Toast 8 cannot process DVR-MS recordings. This is despite the fact that Roxio products for Windows can do this (and the fact I requested this feature).
In my particular case, I currently use Microsoft Media Center 2005 on an Intel Mac mini (via Bootcamp) and I would like to be able to use these recordings in Toast (on another Mac).
I use Media Center because FrontRow does not do TV, AppleTV does not do TV :-), and while EyeTV is making significant progress it still has not caught up with Media Center as a whole.
So if indeed Toast 8 still does not do DVR-MS, I reiterate my request for this to be added in the next (hopefully not to far away) update.
DVR-MS support in Toast 8?
