OK this is the second time I have had to install Creator 8 on this computer. I updated to Win XP from 2k and I have the same problem again.  But I can not remember what the fix was for it.

I have an Opteron cpu with a ATI graphics card x1900 All In Wonder.  I can load the program no problem and then after it reboots I get DAO error:1706 no valid sorce found and it cann't find what it is looking for.

This program changes something and messes with the DAO whatever that is.

So any help here would be welcome.

Like any high tech software or just life "nothin's easy" :) .
For a lot of people, simply removing the DAO entry using Windows>Control Panel> Add-Remove programs usually works.  Try that.  If not, there are a lot of other work arounds that you can find by using the search function on the board for DAO.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Thanks for the reply so quickly, to some of us it is hard to do all things now.  I have been into computes since the 50's hardware and software but life has made living very hard for me now. I have MS and am old with a bad heart.  My memory is going because of the MS AND just simple things are realy hard.  So thanks from an old tech that has lost a lot of his memory and skils.

There are those of us that do need your help,  as far as the search goes I can not even find where the forum search is located at, I found a search but it took me astray all together somewhere else.

So again thanks.  It seems to be working now.
