I have a 400 mhz iMac G3 and I am trying to plug and burn Digital 8 video via my Sony DCR-TRV460
DV camcorder into a new Lacie F.A. Porsche DVD burner.  I am using Toast Titananium 6.1.1 and after about 15-20 minutes of importing I get a Mac OS error.   I am able to import from iMovie without this problem.  I turned off all the screen savers and energy saver functions but this didn't help.  Saving as a disc image produced the same error report.  Any suggestions?

What error do you get? Is there plenty of hard drive space available?

I'm just guessing but iMovie captures as multiple 2GB files so the problem could be that the Toast import gets this error because of the file size. You might try using the freeware application Vidi to do the capture and then drag that to Toast. It is faster than having to go through iMovie.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

Unfortunately I do not remember what number the error was.  If it comes up again I will make note of it.  As far as the hard drive, I am sending the converted files to a folder in a new 80 gigabyte Lacie external hard drive which has plenty of available space.  My iMac hard drive only has about 1.3 gigs available and it has about 320 megabytes of RAM.  I am also using the most recent version of OSX.  Thanks for the Vidi tip.  I will try that and see how it works.
