I installed EMC 8 on 01/29/06.  My two CD/DVD burners dissappeared, I could not even listen to CD music.

The first thing I did was browse through the Roxio Knowledge base where I found the solution.

Try looking up Roxio Knowledge base article - EE8000011, read it and try to follow instrucions.

I did - problem solved

Now could you tell me the value of an RXFilter??

RXFilter allows users to access data on compressed or encrypted disc sets directly from Windows Explorer instead of having to use Roxio Retrieve.. By disabling RXFilter, you will need to use Roxio Retrieve to compressed or encrypted data discs created in Creator Classic.

RXFilter did not appear until I installed EMC 8, so I believe it was installed by EMC 8.  If it's purpose is to enable me to see/use compressed or encrypted fills that are on discs that I created with EMC 8, and the drive cannot be seen with it enabled, What value is it??  I have to turn it off, to access the drives, and the discs are CD/DVD. The same knowledge base file also provided a way to re enable the filter if you found you needed it.

See my reply to cdanteek.  I think this filter is of no use therefore of no value.
