I have no problem bringing in movies from my old vhs tapes but I can't create chapter points without the program crashing. I removed IE7 and added directx9. I have a brand new dell computer which came with the a trial version and I'm wondering if i need to uninstall the trial version and if so, how? My add/remove program list has the following:
Roxio Content 9
roxio Drag to Disc
Roxio Easy media Creator 9 Suite
Roxio MyDVD LE
Roxio RecordNow audio
Roxio RecordNow copy
Roxio recordNow Data

I think from MyDVD LE down are the ones that came with the computer. Should I remove these?

this is error I'm getting when it stops running:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Program C:\program files\roxio\VideoUI 9\VideoWave9.exe
R6025
-pure virtual function call

That runtime error is actually a Microsoft one, but check here for a way to fix it:

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

Please be precise, while MS library reports the error, the failure lies on EMC side. Also, knowledge base article is not precise, as the error appears also when no conditions described is Cause section are present (the cause is simply improper handling by EMC of some installation configurations).

Did you try what was suggested?

I went to this site and went to the system config utility that it directs me to and all of the listed services were already checked. I then tried to see if my firewarll was blocking something but the only two Roxio items listed in my "internet applications' list were Roxio Creator and Roxio Media Capture. Should I delete my trial software, the My DVDLE version? Could that be causing this error?

Try unchecking the media manager (to stop it watching folders) and see if that helps

Actually uncheck them one at a time until it decides to behave but normally it's the media manager is the culprit there
