Hi

For some unknown reason Videowave has suddenly stopped opening avi files (DV avi, DivX Avi ), when I click on one Videowave Just crashes.

Up till now it has been fine.

Does anyone know why.

The only thing to be updated recently is the Divx Codec.

Check this post - it could be a .ax file problem

As you said - the only change on your system was an update of the DivX codec - can you roll back to the previous one and see if that works?

Reason - there may be incompatability between the program and the new codec

Thanks for reply.

I have rolled back DivX.

I have run repair.

I have now removed EMC 9 and re-installed, but I still can not Open Avi.

This is now driving me mad as EMC worked fine last week.

Any other ideals would be appriciated.

Go to the INSTALLATION forum. At the top is a pinned topic on how to get the EMC9 working when installing the new DivX.

This is the advice gi7omy gave, and as I said I tried this but it did not solve the problem.
