I need to import only the audio track from mpg or avi files.

So far, the only way I see to do this in EMC8 is to burn the movie to a DVD, and then use Media Import.

Any suggestions?

from the Videowave Help System:

Extracting audio from a video clip

You can extract the audio portion of a video clip and save it as a separate audio file.

To extract audio from a video clip:
In the Media Selector, browse to the Smart View, album, or folder containing the video clip.
Right-click the video clip, and choose Extract Audio.
The Save As dialog box appears.

Browse to the location where you want to save the audio file.
In the File name box, enter a name for the file.
Click Save.
The audio file is saved in WAV format.
