After a few days of struggles, I read in old forum suggestion here about TURNING OFF WINDOWS DEFENDER when installing Creator 9. I hope this saves you many hours. It works for installing VISTA.

Muin

I am adding below my unanswered requests about this to Roxio Support:. It gives error information that may be helpful.

Problem: Technical Support...Easy Media Creator 9 Suite...Installation/Update

02/03/07 9:47 PM The solution to this is to turn off WINDOWS DEFENDER when reinstalling on a new Vista installation. PLASE share this with your customers and save them the hours it took me to figure it out!

WebTicket
02/03/07 7:05 PM there has been no answer to this and it is marked closed. But this program is advertised as working with Vista. Could someone please follow up on this? Thank you.

02/02/07 1:54 PM I have been unable to install the Creator 9 Suite to my Vista Ultimate. I had it running on XP, and it has either hung up (when pressing the setup file program) or started and given me error messase 03F2.80070005.

I thought it may be because I did not have the original OEM Roxio (Sonic MYDVD Lite) installed. But installing this gave further errors, and this does not work at all, saying that the "trial period is over". So currently I cannot use any of the Roxio products.

Could you please tell me how to solve this? Is there a new version that will work with Vista? Thanks for any help.

I still want to know if 'Defender' catches and removes Alexa :)

I had no trouble at all with the install or running of EMC9 in Vista (so far). In fact, the system just informed me of an update which was for defender.

I have a question for you....Did you install EMC9 before you installed Vista or did you have a clean install of Vista and then installed EMC9?

Vista was installed on a clean system, then EMC9 was installed.
