I pulled together a project of +/- 1-1/2 hour duration and attempted to burn it using my double layer DVD burner. I had the output setting on "High Quality". It failed twice with the following error message:

Failed to start the image writing operation Error while Burning Image
80004003 Error while Aborting

@ 4:20 this morning I woke up thinking changing the quality setting to "Fit to Disc" and see what happens - I also thought I need to get a life.

This one burned successfully - but the quality SUXED - even though the program indicated it was recording @ HQ - the video appears to be burned at something less than HQ (as compared to other videos burned < 1 hour on standard DVD's).

It's hard to fathom two DVD's in a row being defective and not burning.?.? Or does Roxio not handle double layer DVD's @ HQ?.?.?

What do you think?

Thanks for any help.

Andy W.

Well - I THINK I figured something out..... You tell me....

I created this video using MYDVD...... I have had some camera problems and thought I would do a test using pre- - and post camera problem downloaded videos. I wanted to see if the camera was operating the same before and after the fix. Same results in that the output is of low quality and and jumpy - using MYDVD. So camera I think is operating properly

I then tried using VideoWave for the same test video production - Much Better Results.... Why would this be?????

Assuming VideoWave is the way to go - how do I transfer, re-format, re-save my production in MYDVD to VideoWave format? I don't see an option under Save As..

I will re-post this under a new topic to get attention......

Thanks

Andy W.

PS.... Please don't tell me I have to do my project again.... :)

You don't. You seem to be confusing what the two applications are for. VIDEOWAVE is the 'editor'. That is were you add transitions, split clips, add effects, etc. MYDVD is the DVD authoring application. This is where you design the menus and submenus.

DO NOT rely on the 'preview' of either one to determine the final output. The preview is LOW RESOLUTION so you can edit in real time. Every video editor I have ever purchased does the same thing. THE ONLY way to see the final output is to actually burn a DVD or to burn to ISO or video folder.
