Hello I have used Easy Media Creator 7.5 on and off for about 18 months and yesterday I went to create a DVD but it did not work.

When I click on 'create title' it comes up with that infamous windows error message which reads:

"DVD Builder has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Since then I have repaired the program twice aswell as re-installing it. A few moments ago I logged onto the Roxio website with my username and password and downloaded the lastest update which still has not cured the problem.

When I click on "see what this error report contains" it displays the message:

please please please help me out as I am at my wits end with this software.

Thanks!

Did you also install Internet Explorer 7 and/or Windows Media Player 11?

If so, remove them.

Hello, yes I have Internet Explorer 7.  Thanks for the prompt reply.

Just out of curiosity, why is their a problem?  And is there anything I can do to fix this problem other than uninstalling Internet Explorer 7 everytime I want to create a DVD?

I'd uninstall it and LEAVE it uninstalled - it has caused problems for a lot of apps beside Roxio

If you want a secure, tabbed browser, give this one a try

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/

and download and install Firefox. Keep IE6 for MS updates but keep IE7 and WMP11 well clear of your computer
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

The short answer is no.  IE7 broke this version of Roxio and other programs not related to Roxio.  Uninstall it, and leave it off your computer.  If you like tabs, then Firefox is the way to go.

Hello just uninstalled IE 7 and my Roxio works again!  I can't believe that IE 7 made that difference.  I don't see how IE 7 even related to my Roxio software.  I have never been so happy to create a new DVD title!

Thanks again

from Matthew on IE 6!

Glad you got it sorted - now go here and get Firefox and enjoy tabbed browsing, plugins, themes and all

Enjoy

I had to update my video card driver by downloading from computer manufacturers web site.  Then I deleted my driver and reloaded the update.  This fixed my problem.
