Ok, for example, when I go and right click on an MP3... and the menu comes up, instead of "Open" being the default and in bold... it has the EDIT TAG option in bold.  How can I remove this?  Also, for example, when I throw in a DVD, the default bold option is "Copy with Scan Disk Copier"... how do I remove these?  Any assistance would be appreciated.

I am using Roxio Easy Media Creator 8.  Examples of problems are as follows.

When I go and right Click on an MP3, it would normally have "OPEN" at the top and in blod (default action)... but now  it has "EDIT TAG" as the first option in bold.

When I go and right click on an Audio CD, it would normally have "Play", not it has "Copy with Disc Copier"

That narrows it down to about 15 or so different applications that have audio connected with it.  Please narrow it down a little more.  What is the name of the window that you are working in?  Look at the top left of that window.

When you were first using the program, were "open" and "play" the defaults?

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

I usually use Winamp to play music files in.  All I know is that once I installed Roxio Easy Media Creator Suite 8.... that these options were added.  I uninstalled the suite and the disapeared... but I need the sweet to burn CD's and stuff.  there are no options that I can find that allow me to choose for EMC8 to not put these in, so I was wondering if there is a way to Manually remove them/... or at least change them so they are not the default

I think that you mean you are using Windows Explorer or My computer and right clicking on an mp3 file. It should also have a Play listed in the right click menu. That should play it in your default player; so should just double clicking on the file. If not, in the right click menu, click open with, then click choose program, select Winamp if that is the player you want, check the box ' always use the selected program to open this kind of file'. That will set the player you selected as the default.

Thanks jeanresenfeld,  :) .  I guess I didn't understand the first post and thought that the OP was having problems in V8.  Now I know why the OP wouldn't post which function in V8 was the problem.  One track mind I guess  .

Ok, let me draw this out for you.  This is the EXACT THING I WANT HELP WITH IF ANY ONE CAN.

In MS Windows XP, in a music folder, in the left side panel... there is a portion called "Music Tasks" and there is a PLAY button that says Play all... but when I press it, it doesnt work becuz the "default" setting is to "EDIT TAG".  This is what my Right Click menu looks like when I right click on an MP3.

<b>Edit Tag</b>
Play in Winamp
Enqueue in Winamp
Open
Play with Media Player
Open with...
-and so on

I am just trying to find a way to get rid of the Edit tag or movie it so it is not the BOLD DEFAULT OPTION.

Here is your answer.  This is a Roxio forum.  This is not a WinAmp forum, and it is not an MS forum.  Go to one of those websites to get your answer.
