I am trying to remove Roxio files from my C drive to install Creator 9 but I keep getting this Shellex.dll cannot be removed message. Any ideas as I cannot remove because of this message?

Try removing it in safe mode - the dll is a Shell Extension and may still be running
You could also look for it in task manager, processes and see if you can shut it down there

Reboot, hold down the F4 key after the BIOS ends and before the OS starts - select 'Safe Mode'

Not sure about over there Daithi but over here it's usually the F8 key that gets you to the choices menu.

Do a google search on "shellex.dll" and you will get many hits and there may be solution to your problem listed. This same question was asked about a year ago on this or the previous board and a solution was posted. Perhaps some other member can remember
