I open various applications like Disc Copier and get intallation errors, the last one being: "A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: D:\c5fcb.msi." If I click okay, it begins the installation all over again, always failing at the same spot. It also attempts to install the Sonic CinePlayer Decoder Pack and fails. After repeated installs, this is still happening.

If it's installed already, go to add/remove programs, insert the CD and try a repair install

the .msi file will be on the CD (it's an installer)

Check for dirt or anything (thumbprints) on the CD. If that fails, copy the whole thing to a temp folder and run setup.exe from there. If it fails to copy (cyclic redundancy errors or similar) then the CD is faulty and would need replacing

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
