I have a Canon Optura20.  Vista sees the camcorder.  Movie Maker is able to capture the video.  EMC 9 MI can play the tape from the camcorder (I can watch the video in the preview screen).  But, once I try and capture the video (either via the 'Capture Entire Tape' button or by specifiying a 'capture length'), MI locks up and it won't capture the video.  Interestingly, when MI locks up, I notice that on my camcorder's LCD, the PLAY indicator on the LCD changes to PLAY\PAUSE.  I've waited several minutes and the camcorder never comes out of the PLAY\PAUSE state.

As for a few house cleaning items, I am logged in as an Administrator and I do have virus scanning software disabled.

Thanks for any assistance on this.

Also, to add to this, MI won't capture in 'normal' mode.  It appears that if I change the mode to 'smart scan', MI seems to capture the video.  I obviously want to capture in 'normal' mode for now.

List you system specs, similar to how I have mine listed in my signature.
