Don't know how long this will last, but on digg.com tonight there was a link to some great mood music audio files. I have a broaband connection and was able to download all of them in about 20 minutes. Nice selection of different times lengths, from short to long.

The link is below. When you click on a file, it will open a new browser window with embedded Quicktime. Wait until the white bar loads all gray, then right click on the player and choose "save as source" which will save the file as an .mp3:

I think that they are based on the original game sound tracks, but reinterpreted by a band of musicians using various combinations of instruments. They decided to give free access to their tracks. That said, about three of the tracks are labelled original sound track and acknowledge Koji Kondo as the composer.

The web site gives more information on their project.

Oooops, brain fart! Sorry imaref1.

I downloaded the whole shabang. Unfortunately they are WinRAR files. Found a free trial to unzip them but the trial, WinAce, had tons of adware in it. Unzipped and save it all then removed WinAce.

Later I went to show wife and out of 200+ MB download, I ended up with only 8 or so tunes.

Something awry here..............maybe me. Will try again later.

Winzip 11 will unzip rar files, as will Winrar; both have free trial. Neither have adware.

http://www.winzip.com/

http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

There is also 7 zip that will open rar files. That's free. Also no adware.
