Is anyone using EMC8 with a Canopus ADVC110 video capture device?

I bought a brand new ADVC110 after installing EMC8. When I select the DV video device with Media Import, it turns both the digital and analog input indicators on, which throws the ADVC110 into a mode where all input LEDs are turned on and the device can only be reset by powering-off and restarting. The ADVC110 gets it's power from the firewire cable, so powering down means you have to shutdown/power-down the COMPUTER in order to power-down the ADVC110.

I've sent the ADVC110 back to Canopus for repair, but it is still exhibiting some of the behavior, especially with EMC8, as it did before they repaired it. I'm trying to decide if I need to send it back again (and ask for a new unit) or if this behavior is being caused by something goofy with EMC8.

Tonight, both LED input indicators came on without running Media Import, but I did run VIdeowave to produce a short video clip. I captured the video with EMC7 Capture, which worked ok with the ADVC110.

Any experience with Canopus ADVC110?
