Hi all. I suspect this is an easy one. I installed Media Creator 8 just a couple of days ago and I'm still searching and exploring. One thing I noticed immediately was that when I go to "backgrounds" for any of the video menus I only have three options. I noticed from one of the forum entries that there should be a lot more than that. I suspect it's a problem involving the "content" disc that came with the retail version. I set the options for a "complete" installation, but it never prompted me to enter the contents disc, and it's still sitting in its sealed envelope. Did that stuff install from the installation disc, or do I need to separately install it? I've never used one of these forums before, but I suspect I'll be needing it more and more. Thanks.

The process of installing the content changed for v8. The second disc (content) has it's own installer now. So pop that in and install it, and you should see all the other templates. :)

No problem. It's a common thing that comes up here.
There's a few that pop on here from time to time during the day, so it's all a matter of timing. Yours was 'good timing' this time. :)

Hi

I downloaded EMC 8 from the Internet.  Would I then have the complete installation, or do I need to download some more stuff or also run a second insallation file?

Regards

Alfred

If you downloaded both files. The confirmation you recieved should have pointed you to download 2 files. One is the main program install, the 2nd is the content install. Did you not download 2 files?

Hi,

I too had trouble 'finding' the new content.  I installed the content disc, but it sure seems like there are only a handful of new effects.  I was hoping for more - should I be?

I count about 132 video effects in Video Wave.  If you do not have that many, go to tools/options and see if the program has defaulted to hardware or software.  If it is hardware, the program didn't load the content disc properly.  If it is software,  update the drivers for your video card/chips.  Go back to the program and see if it is hardware.  If not, you may want to consider upgrading your video card or adding one if your computer is not a laptop.  You will also get many more transitions with the upgraded video.

If you are using MyDVD to do your production, you should see 16 transitions (to over 230 in VideoWave)

If you re building a slide show or a video project, it is best to do so in VideoWave and then use MyDVD to build the menus and burn the production.
