Cant access various buttons EMC 9 MAJOR issues

I installed EMC9 on my sons computer. Everything installed fine. When he went to import a video, or convert video to Ipod versions, he wasnt able to click on the "convert" button or the drop down menu wouldnt activate so he could change the file type. It happened also on the import feature too. I have EMC9 on my computer and everything works just fine. Am i missing something? It seems like theres a file or codec or something missing? PLEASE HELP if anyone knows what the heck im talking about.

For iPod conversion, make sure you have the latest Quicktime installed. Go to Apple's website for that.
