I keep getting the following error 'HRESULT 0x80040217 no combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection' what does this mean. Does this mean I wasted my money buying this software? I am not going to reformat my pc just for this software, what can I do?

It means it is not working with xVids. try something else and see if it works

Hello,
I am getting the same error and it is really bothering me. I've tried to burn .avi and .xvid files and nothing seems to work. The error I get reads:
"Operating system error: HRESULT = 0x80040217 No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection -14"
I've exhausted the web trying to find a solution to this problem. Can someone please help??
I'm running Windows XP Media Center Edition on a AMD 64 Athlon machine with 2G RAM.
