-startup : avg, intel and realtek soft, mssql server, hp toolbox
i'v try to uninstall and reinstall Bump. i'v deleted catalog too and try with a new user.
Some help will be really apreciate. Thanks

Do you happen to have Save and Restore or EMC Retrospect installed. I had a very similar problem in the past with either of those 2. After removal, no more problems. For whatever reason Ghost does not have the same effect. I have it and BUMP installed.

Thanks for reply.
No, I'v not EMC installed on the pc. I'v only install BUMP 6 deluxe. (first install was complet install and the second was personal, with only BUMP, no other componants)

It does need some of the other parts. have had trouble in the past when I did not install the full thing.
What type of storage are you trying to right to. File, CD/DVD, tape?

I just started seeing this exact same problem today.
For me, it started after doing a backup. There was an error with the backup, and I figured it was a bad DVD. After I hit OK on the error screen, the program crashed. I restarted, and it hung at the splash screen.
I rebooted, and still it hangs on the splash screen.
I repaired, and still it hangs on the splash screen.
I uninstalled, then reinstalled and still it hangs on the splash screen.
This thing is hosed. Any clue how I can get it unstuck? I need to do a backup ASAP.
Thanks.

First thing to ask is what did you install recently? More than likely, if it was working before, something you installed has hosed up BUMP and possibly other applications. As it could be anything, including a Windows update, you might have some work ahead of you figuring it out. If you do, that might help ish. At this point I am guessing as I am sure it is some other application causing the problem, but with so many out there that could do it, it is anyones guess.

How was yours set up? My COM+event viewer is started manually and started, with no problem with BUMP. The other COM services are manually started and not started at this time.
As for backing up to DVD-RW, I would not use them for saving anything over about 5 minutes. Fine for testing, but not for keeping data at length of time. They are notorious for losing data. Use DVD-R or DVD+R to do backups, or files.
