when i burn a dvd +rw disk, i should be able to rewrite tio it. yet after i burn it, though im able to play it,
when i try and earse it via the dvd burner , so that i can write to it again, it says 'no disk present'.
when i drag it to drag and drop, it says the same thing.
I am NOT finalizing the disk when i first burn it.
what gives? ive gone thru $20.00 worth of dvd +rw disks.
also, is there any customer service support at all????

As far as support, you can always call or go to Support Home and contact them from here. However, these forums are not tech support but merely user forums.

I actually had this happen to me a couple of times also. In my case, even the disk/drive utility did not recognize that a disk was present. If it is rewritable media, finalizing or not does not impact your ability to erase and reuse it.
I can't explain why this happened - except the next time I tried using the very same dvd+rw media, the program recognized it just fine and erased/reused it. I don't recall if it was after a reboot or not. And it hasn't happened again.
I would just unload the media, reinsert it, and try again.

It isn't Roxio that is picky. It's your burner. It likes some media and not others. I wouldn't be caught dead using Memorex, although my burner will see it and burn to it.
Memorex has abosolutely no quality control, because they have several different manufacturers making their media. The last batch of 50 that I had, I got 42 coasters. I won't use Memorex again.

Are you sure it's Memorex that creates the coasters? I've used it in the past and (if) Roxio feels like functioning that day Memorex burns just as reliably as the rest.

Yeah, I am sure. If you run DVDInfopro and see the word CMC MAG, your media is junk, even if you can burn to it. The dyes will fade out in less than 3 months, and you will start getting read errors.
Not all Memorex is junk. You just never know what manufacturer that you are going to get, so I avoid it.

I have tried different brand disks with the same results.
My burner will do +/-. I like to use RW disks to check for mistakes before burning or copying to an R disk. (I know... I can use preview, but sometimes no matter how much I check it before burning, I find a mistake when I play it in my DVD player. I just like to leave the option open.)

What burner do you have? There are junk burners out there, too.
