Update RecordNow from v 5.1 to 7.32 fails

I have rebuilt my IBM ThinkPad G40 using the system image, and the version of RecordNow that is preinstalled is 5.1.

I then downloaded the update to v 7.32 from the Lenovo.com website, but it fails with no error. When I try to run the update in silent mode I get "Error 000D" and the program quits.

Lenovo.com believes that it is too big a jump to go from v 5 to v7, but they have no suggestion for me to get around this problem and they don't have an interim version for me to update.

First, let me ask for HELP! Does anyone have any suggestions for me to get this legitimate update installed?

Second, let me say that as a life-long ThinkPad user, I am apalled by the lack of support I received today. I will definitely reconsider my loyalty and recommend that anyone in the future buying a Lenovo product think long and hard about how much support they may require in the future. I am a tech professional, I know my business and I can't believe I was treated the way I was today by Lenovo Support!
