I am trying to import movies I took usung a canon dc40. I have imported them into easy creator 9 from the camera via usb. I have also finalised the mini dvd and imported from the dvd Either way When I try to edit the movie the imported movie audio is way ahead of the video.

You need to use a firewire connection to capture from the video camera. If it is actually a mini dvd disc, you can either capture from the disc or copy the files to your hard drive and just drag the .vob files into VideoWave for editing.
You would not use a firewire connection, if it is a mini dvd.

I assume they are in sync when you bring them into VW but out of sync after you edit…
I would use the Split and Delete in VW rather than the Trim feature.
