Have you tried contacting Sony or checking their website to see if you can get their software replaced?

I have the same problem with a SONY DCR HC96E. When i go to Capture it lets me select Sony DV Device but in Status it says UNKNOWN CAPTURE ERROR. Does this mean ive spent money on a program that doesnt capture from my camera. Its no good capturing from Movieplayer2 because after 15 mins it crashes. Ive read up on a fix for it which sort of worked as it gave me another 5mins capturing time (something to do with virtual memory settings) But why should i have to even think about using another program when Roxio is supposed to capture using Firewire. Didnt mention on the box only works with some cameras!
Anybody got a fix
Thanks

Your problem is NOT the same as the OP's. See the thread that you started for a possible answer to your problem.
Post to that thread, not this one.
