Other Packet writing programs like Nero InCD or Sonic DLA will conflict with Drag to Disc. Many have stated that Windows Media Player 11 also causes problems.

You always have a chance of software conflicts. Any other DVD packet writing software will conflict with Roxio's Drag to Disk.
If you could describe the problem you're having, perhaps we could help.

See earlier thred not far below, but there was much more which ensued. I took some of the advice there given and my PC went into slow motion after downloading from a site suggested as "here". I finished up with a trojan and other problems which resulted in me having to reformat my machine. Have only just finished reconstructing my address book, lost e-mails are gone forever, and my calendar took a heap of work.
Anyway, I did get up and running using IE6. I tried re-loading EMC7 intending to update to 7.5 but realised I had not excluded Napster on the initial install. For obvious reasons if you have looked at my earlier post seventy year olds have their own 50 year old music vinyl/CD's etc which they have converted to MP3's for use when walking, playing in the car etc etc.
I had more drama trying to remove Napster from my programs after that and am now very reluctant to even try to re-use Roxio. God knows what else will stuff up so the Roxio discs sit on my desk for fear of having another stuff up..

Sonic bought the Roxio name and software from the company previously known as Roxio, and added some Sonic programs to Roxio's EMC 7, to come up with EMC 7.5. Meanwhile, the company formerly known as Roxio, which had bought the name and software for Napster, changed it's name to Napster. So Napster is in EMC 7, but not EMC 7.5.
However, it is an upGRADE, not an upDATE. Which means it has to be purchased. It's still available on eBay or similar.

Sorry.
I understand your reluctance to install Roxio after having problems with the new Internet Explorer 7 and the trojan.
However, I doubt that the trojan came because of the Firefox download ( which I don't use). The chances are that it and something else was already on your computer and causing problems which only got worse the more you tried solutions to get things running properly again.
Do you have a Virus program and a firewall program installed on your computer? There are some good free ones out there. If you're a newspaper reader, I'd recommend reading your local computer advice columnist's website column for advice on free versions. You might also want to check with their advice about how to back up your computer.
Also understand that Internet Explorer 7 'breaks' other programs than Roxio. A few friends have called me saying that their computer programs were no longer working. I told them how to uninstall Internet Explorer 7 and every single one of them called me back to say that their programs were now working again.

I never bought anything from eBay nor even tried participating in a bid. So I have no knowledge of how the transaction goes.
PS: I hope you're not affected by that fire in Orange County the other day.

There aren't any listed at the moment. While I'd say you can get it for between $20 and $40, one sold for $11 and one sold for $52 (the latter with 21 bids - 2 bids so low as to be irrelevant, 16 bids from a newbie who doesn't know how to bid, and 3 bids by another newbie who does know how to bid and win).

About a year ago, I got a sealed boxed version of EMC 7.5 for $39.00 on eBay.

Frank, "buy it now" is a fixed price auction. I hope that's what your asking!
Last year I bought two sealed 7.5 Retail boxed versions $2.00 each, $5.00 shipping for the first one and $3.00 shipping for the second.
I would call that a good deal.

I was using AVG virus program and Zone alarm firewall but now have CA security. Clearly something else must have got in there somehow and I'll have another go at 7/7.5 as I still have unfinished projects on my other separate hard drive. The tangential discussion this created was interesting but hardly relevant to my plight so I'm pleased you came on the scene thanks again.

That's exactly what I was asking. I am familiar with the basic bidding and Buy Now differences and was just curious if there were any "BUY NOW" EMC 7.5 listed and for how much, as I haven't been on their website in a long time now.
