I just installed Roxio 9 and now Windows XP wil not shut down. I did not delete Roxio 7yet.
Any feedback on this.

Is there any message telling you what is holding it up? Do a ctl/alt/del and look in the task manager to see is anything is not responding.
Also, do a check for spyware and a virus scan just in case.
You mention you still have v7, do you have IE7 installed? IE7 and Roxio 7 won't work together.
Finally, go to Control Panel, then go to Power Options, click on the APM tab, then check the "Enable Advanced Power Management support." Shut down your PC.
