I use a Tascam US-122 USB soundcard and have NEVER got it to record streaming audio from the Net.

I previously had an SB Live! which worked with programs like OpD2d, WM Recorder, etc... Now, I'm stuck. angry.gif

Can I capture Streaming Internet radio using Easy Media Creator 9 with my Tascam US-122?

All help appreciated...  smile.gif

Thanks,

John.

It's down to your hardware and what it's capable of really. Software can only use hardware in ways it is designed to work. I'd say that if the other softwares you used before can't with the USB one, EMC 9 probably won't either.

That makes sense, Larry - thanks. But software makers do test their products with various sound cards, and I wondered if someone knows whether or not Roxio has done so with the Tascam. Anyone?

I agree, Larry. It's very doubtful if EMC 9 will capture streaming audio from a USB hardware device, but I've never tried it so can't say for sure.

John.

I'm sure they do, otherwise they'd have no way of knowing if something actually worked. I'm guessing they would test hardware that they know has the capability to do it. Whether the Tascam was one of them I have no idea.

The requirements page only lists the following that I can see. And I couldn't find a list of compatible sound cards on their support site like the one for video capture devices.
" For audio capture or playback: 16-bit Windows-compatible sound card and speakers "

Right. Thanks for looking around for me. I also spent some time on their support site earlier, but to no avail.

Perhaps the question should be: "Does this software work with USB soundcards?" Their support site is not wonderful, frankly - I've just asked "RoxAnn" some questions rolleyes.gif ... keywords like Tascam and USB - but I might as well be talking to a computer.  tongue.gif  huh.gif LOL

And there's no direct way to contact Roxio, which is *very* poor. At least, I couldn't find one. That'll probably put me off buying the software actually...

Thanks for all your input, folks. Very grateful.

Enjoy your day,

John.
