When I try to install, change or uninstall it says can't find certificate.  Then it says make sure computer is set at current date.  Can anyone give me the date that EMC 7.5 came out??

Thank You

You don't have IE 7 installed do you?  If so, you'll need to remove it.
Then run the Microsoft Cleanup Utility, reboot and reinstall.

Just out of curiosity, what date does your computer say it is?

One of the computers I was refurbishing at interconnection.org gave me that message, and I finally LOOKED at the date - 01/01/80.  It wouldn't reset, either.  Another computer to the deconstruction section sad.gif

I'm having the same problem. I googled the issue and found lots of good advice, and I've go many files deleted.

Read through http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=4824 and see if you have any more luck than I do.

I have deleted all of the sonic and roxio folders, and have deleted them out of the registry as well, but every time I reboot my computer, it starts windows installer and trys to reinstall EMC 7.5 and then give me the above error. I can't get rid of it! It's frustrating.

Ahhh! I figured it out. Run the windows install cleanup tool mentioned earlier in the forum. I also had to do a search for Roxio with the advanced settings set to show hidden files, and use unlocker to delete these files. I then restarted. Actually, I had to restart and do another search, but I finally got everything removed. There was a lot of useful info in the forum I mentioned above as well. By doing these things I eventually figured it out and got everything removed. I was able to remove Roxio from my computer. Now I will attempt to reinstall it. I'll let everyone know if it works.
