As you can imagine, some early discs were sent to stores even before the official release of the product. Roxio continued to work to fix some of the problems later found and were able to update the downloadable version. If you buy the download, you will get the 8.05 build - the same as the updated disc version with the upgrade. Those early discs are the ones that need the update.

Why are they different

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
