Hi,
When I try to start Roxio EMC 7 i get "microsoft Visual C++ runtime library"

This application has reuested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Read a few post but still dont know what the problem is.

Just checked and am running IE6
The ONLY thing i did was uninstalled Norton and installed AVG and Zonealarm.

HELP

Are you using WMP11? That also causes problems

Hi

I'm getting the same error message. It doesn't come up when I launch EMC though. I can get into the DVD creator and I can edit projects, but I can't burn. I get the runtime message and am then forced to shutdown before the 7th step of 7 (ie. closing the project) of the burn is completed. I have uninstalled IE7 and WMP11, but still get the runtime error.

If you work this out, Chanel, please send in a message.

Cheers,
Juli

Try doing a repair on the Roxio software, and see if that helps.

...... and make certain you've defragmented your hard drive.

Since you've installed a new firewall and antivirus, I'd suggest that you disconnect from the internet and exit both AVG and Zone Alarm before you start to burn the DVD.

The other thing you might try is to burn to an 'image file' instead of the DVD. Then use Disk Copier to burn from the 'image file' to the DVD.

Zone Alarm is your problem.

I'm getting the same error. The only thing I did was upgrade my NIS. I went to the roxio site and it said to check the services in msconfig and turn them on. I don't see Roxio there at all. Is my only option to reinstall? Unfortunately I purchased the download for EMC 7.5 so I can only reinstall to EMC7....don't know if there's much of a difference between them. Any advise before I try to reinstall?
Thank you

As suggested in the posts above, disable AVG and ZoneAlarm and see if that resolves the problem.

Or, in zesty's case, NIS (Norton Internet Security).
