I am capturing video, and the program says "lost signal" Sometimes it immediately lets me click "capture" again, and sometimes not. I am just capturing camcorder tapes that have been put on vcr.

Any ideas why this happens?

Thanks

That would be a function of the capture card.  Make sure all of your connections are not loose.  Sometimes weak signal from the VCR will cause that.

Is there anything else that can cause this?

I may have solved it with this tape atleast. My screen saver came on, and that might have been when it occured this last time. I shut that off. But I have one tape that always does that to me every 4 minutes or so.

It can be a trial with old tapes…

I had one that had me switching VCRs (source unit) and PCs until I finally found the combo that worked. – My Recorder/Player and one of the VCRs.

Is there any way to make the set up you have work?
