I completed a project with HD menus - motion background as well as 6 motion chapter buttons from a 69 minute movie. I had used one of the HD templates but then removed the frames around the buttons and added drop shadow. Everything looked fine on the simulation - I even rendered it so I could see the motion menus and they looked perfect - high def, proper aspect ratio etc. - slight drop shadow below each button. I then produced a BD disc and it works fine - menu looks good EXCEPT each of the menu motion buttons looks letterboxed (black bars on either side of the button) - the buttons are still 16:9 and are not cropped - the video playing looks fine but why the letterboxing? Has anyone else noted this and why wouldn't it show up on the preview? - I even took the menu out and placed it in the bin (used the procedure described by Scott in my recent post concerning low-rez menus) - no black bars noted there either. I don't think that removing the frames earlier had anything to do with it.
Any thoughts?

I believe it has to do with not using frames - I solved my previous problem by putting frames back in and have used them ever since in 14 other projects - no problems.
