I'm having the exact same problem with CD Copier not opening as described by Joseein the post atthe link below:
http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?...c=11278&hl=

The initial splash screen shows then goes away and the program never opens, despite it showing as running in task manager
Has anyone found a solution?

I looked at the knowledge base article below but it's referring to version 7, not 9.
http://kb.roxio.com/content/kb/Creator/EE7000028

The names of the files it suggests manually registering differ from those that exist in version 9, they're also located in a slightly different directory than those mentioned in the article.

The knowledge base article says to do a Start-->Run-->enter the following to manually register the following files, in the following directories:

Regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\Dragon\Dragon.dll"
Regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\Dragon\DragonRs.dll"

The problem is those file & directories don't exist in version 9. The closest are:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\9.0\Dragon\Dragon30.dll
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\9.0\Dragon\DragonRs30.dll

Anyone know if the suggestions in the knowledge base article should be tried after changing the file names/directory to reflect those that exist in version 9? Is this advisable?

Or has anyone found another work-around/fix?

Thanks!

The work around is to open that program from the Windows Start Programs menu.  Actually this is a work around for several issues that are caused by the home page.  One notable example is that some people do not get the preview panes in VideoWave if they use the Home menu; not problems using the Start Program path.  If you use a application frequently, create shortcuts to those programs if you'd like.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Thanks for replying Steve,
but that doesn't work either (that's how I usually open the programs).

If I open "Roxio Creator 9 Home" (from the Start/All Programs menu) and click on "Copy" in the vertical row on the left, then "Copy Disc"  I get what looks to be a method to copy discs (a screen where I can select the Source & Destination discs is displayed).
However, from what I'm seeing (I do have Easy CD 9 working ok on another PC) & what I've gathered reading users posts here, that is a separate/different copying program from the one that operates from the Start Menu.
The problem seems to be limited to CD Copier as all the other Easy Media Creator programs seem to open and react normally when clicking through the options (I haven't actually tried burning any discs yet ...not sure I would have any confidence in the burned discs because of this issue)

Instead of clicking on the Home icon in the start menu, go to 'Copy' and then 'Disc Copier' and see if it works that way
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

If you don't see Disc Copier then you have a bad install, or your version is a Basic version that came loaded on a computer or came with a DVD burner.
