I've just encountered a problem burning a DVD. What does a Mac Error Code, Result Code = -50 mean?, but more importantly, how can I fix the problem.
When Toast 6 starts to encode the dvd its fine, then when it starts to 'write' to the DVD - I get this error message.
Can anyone assist?
thanks,
Denai

There can be many reasons for that error but a common one is that the drive is having a problem with the media. Try a different brand of media. Also, try again by choosing Save as Disc Image from the File menu and then use the Image File setting in the Copy window to burn the disc image to DVD.

Hello, I ran into this problem today using Toast 6.1 Lite. here is what I believe fixed the problem for me.

When I opened a new project, under the DATA tab it had a file called " My Disk" with nothing in it. I did not notice it for quite a while, but after many failed attempts to create a VIDEO DVD, I went and deleted the "My Disk" file in the DATA section, and after that it no longer hung up after encoding the video files.

Hope this is helpful! Good Luck smile.gif

Ive just had the exct same problem - writing an image file doesnt help either as it wont write this - therefore media doesnt matter as its not getting that far.

Any more ideas?

What kind of video are you trying to make into a DVD? What setting are you using in Toast? Which version of Toast 6?
