Having had my share of problems with EMC9, I finally got it going with the help from people on this forum and a lot of my time. My problem from the beginning was "The trial version of this product has expired".
Never had a trial version, only the fully bought box with the CDs.
When this message finally disappeared, I enjoyed the many features EMC9 has. I transferred  LPs and audio cassettes to my PC, converted camcorder movies, etc.

Then yesterday, I installed an update for iTunes, the new Version 7.1.1.5 and then the s... hit the fan.
When I clicked on my EMC9 icon I was back to square one; the dreaded "The trial version of this product has expired" was back:-(((

I tried XP System Restore, but it won't restore to any previous checkpoints.
I guess I have to go back and spend more hours to get EMC9 going again.

There should be a law... On second thought, we already have too many of them that aren't enforced.
Moral of the story, don't install anything once you have EMC9 working fine.

I can't say that iTunes is a problem as I installed it recently and I've had no problems with EMC.  There were reports of problems with older versions of iTunes.
It seems you had the problem initially without installing iTunes so it's hard to say at this point what is causing the problem.

You're probably right. I read some posts where it was pointed out that the "Trial version expired" notice will pop up randomly. So maybe I'm back to uninstalling/reinstalling to finish my projects and then dump EMC9 for good.
