Hey guys

I purchased Roxio 9 less than a month ago and I haven't had a successful disc burned yet.   sad.gif

It plays back most of the time without a problem on my computer but my DVD players will not recognize it and if my some great chance it does, it is 'jagged', it skips, etc.

So I perused these boards for a bit, took some of the advice of saving to IMO and all that other happy stuff.

Nothing.  Still getting errors left and right and it shuts down sporadically.

I email Roxio and tell them I want to return it.
They re-direct me to another location to notify of my request.
I click on the link they send me and request the return from them.
I get the same exact email AGAIN.

Is this like "distract your opponent"?

Why does Roxio hate me?

If anyone lives on the northeast coast, come help me.  I'm the one in the fetal position rocking back and forth mumbling "no DVD...Error while burning disc"

Did you try a different brand of media?  What media are you using?  What are your system specs?  What programs are you using in EMC 9?

Since it plays on your computer well, then there is obviously a problem with the player.  Have you tried another brand of media and see if that helps? Burn to a slower speed?  Tried on other players (friends)?
I had a player that wouldn't play many of my discs while all the others played the disc perfectly fine.

It says Roxio Easy Media Creator 9.

I am trying to do a slow show presentation with music.

For normal burning cd processes, I used to use Sonic....however, when I clicked on My DVD to go that route from Sonic, it always said I had to upgrade.

Well, I did.  And I thought I went to the best one because I don't like to buy more than once.

(One and Done!)

I have a Dell XPS 600.  Tons of unused memory.

And sometimes that drag and drop thingy completely throws off other programs.

Oh yea, when I tried burning yesterday, Sonic said something about they could not find path...BMPLE....no idea what that is...so I tried reinstalling it and my system crashed.  So now I have NO Sonic.

Pretty hard to diagnose problems with little information. First post your computer specs. If you use My Controls at the top of the page and edit your signature, you can put the specs there and they will appear on every post you make.

Check your DVD player manual. Does it play both plus R and dash R discs? Will it play RW discs? What brand of disc are you using? Buy a better brand if you are using a house brand. Have you tried loking for burn errors using DVD Infor Pro (right side of the Home Applications page under utilities).

Now, how are you making the DVDs? You computer will pray just about any video file you throw at it but for the DVD player, it has to be in the right format with all the right things in the right places.

Do you have a Sonic application AND Roxio EMC 9 on your computer at the same time?  Thta's perhaps what's throwing you off.  You can do everything you want to in EMC 9 and more.  No need to have both.

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

You didn't answer any of my questions.  No way to help, without that information.  List system specs, similar to how I have mine listed in my signature.

I have two DVD players currently (Sony and Panasonic) and neither one of them play the DVDs.

Oh and it's only a 3+ minute slideshow....it's not like I'm burning a movie.

If it plays in your computer, then there's obviously not a problem with the project.  I'd first make sure you have a clean player then, try other media.

Urghh....uh...if I haven't tipped my hand already, I'm not that computer savvy.

Where would it tell me that?

I am pretty sure I'm not using the CDR.
