Unfortunately, I upgraded to Widows Vista from Windows XP on my HP Pavillion a1600n dual core. I previously had MyDVD 6 on XP and never had any problems. After the Vista upgrade, I upgraded and downloaded EMC 9 Suite. Following intallation, when starting EMC 9 I attempt to create a DVD. When I try to "Add a new movie" I get the following....
"Runtime error! c:\programfiles\Roxio\VideoUI9\Videowave9.exe. This application requested Runtime to terminate in an unusual way." Then Vista prompts "Videowave 9 has stopped working".
I am about to return the product, but guessing by Roxio's customer service that might not be an easy thing to accomplish. How can a company ask you to pay almost $100 for a product that so many are having issues with and they offer no support whatsoever.
All my drivers, etc are updated. I uninstalled Drag to Disk. I am running IE 7 and WMP 11. I've read all the threads I could find and tried most suggestions. Nada, zip. Any suggestions please let this novice know. I'm thinking there is a conflict with another program I have but unsure how to identify what program it could be and how to resolve. Thank you for the help in advance.

Problems like this are common when upgrading one OS to another on top of it rather than doing a clean install of the new OS. There's always things left behind from the old OS that can cause problems. That may be part of the cause."Runtime error! c:\programfiles\Roxio\VideoUI9\Videowave9.exe. This application requested Runtime to terminate in an unusual way." Did you try to contact support for EMC 9 or Customer Service for return the product bought directly from us?or is this just an assumption?
