Hi - I've an issue with jittery playback, but I'm not sure on the cause, and whether there is anything I can do.

I've an NTSC camcorder but now live in UK (hence PAL). I'm trying to burn my first project to DVD editing 4 hours of holiday footage to about 1 hour.

Everything is fine until I burn to DVD. I've tried burning to PAL, NTSC and the "Both" setting, but it seems to make little difference. There is always a slight jitter on playback.

Has anyone any suggestions. Having read this forum I have now updated my video drivers to the latest level (albeit after I'd imported all the source video) and recreated the files using the "DVD Best Quality" settings.

Any suggestions??

I am not sure if I will be able to help or not, what I said Gest is to try to see if you can convert your file from NTSC to PAL before trying to write two disk. I live in New Zealand, which is a PAL TV system. I have some old VHS tapes in the NTSC system. I have been able to convert with other software. I hope this may give you some clues on what to look for hopeless at help Michelle

The only way I can think you'd be able to manage is to import the video footage into the computer first as an avi file (maybe using movie maker) and then re-render that to the 25 fps/625 lines of the European TV standard (erroneously referred to as PAL)
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
