hi,\

i am new to dvd authoring and myDVD is confusing. (thought i was moving up from nero basic)(i needed the divx to mpeg encoder for some stuborn files)

what i am trying to do is create a dvd with two movies using three menu and a lead in introduction.

for some reason when playing the movie on my dvd player (or with powerdvd or windvd or vlc) the leadin plays then the first starts automatically

i want it to stop at the first menu and wait until i highlight the movie i want then go to a submenu then
wait until 'play' is clicked or return to the main menu is clicked. (possibly have a button to play the other movie)

also can i remove the 'picture' icon and just use a 'play' button?
is there a more detailed how to manual??

i know $99 is not much for video authoring.. is there a more flexable version.. i have a mac would toast work? can i swap for that) is there a way to build a menu from scratch?

That's the way it should work. Create your project. Add the intro. Add your video files. Edit menus to create your submenu, etc. I've only used the intro a few times, but it has always worked.

This is determined by the 'style' chosen. There are several that uses TEXT ONLY. Choose one of those and then customize it. You can change the background, fonts, colors, etc.

Not that I know. You can however customize any of the prebuilt styles and then save it for future use.

it is not working that way. is their a setting i have missed it is bypassing the menu and starting the movie.. there was an option in the ulead program to do this.. i would have used ulead but it does/did not support divx... what the source id encoded in.
(i wonder if it is the style i chose.. ??)

i saw some thing in 'compiling' a movie. perhaps that is more what i am doing. except that the movies or rather tv shows are separate shows. but as each are only about 45 minutes long i try to fit 2 on a disk.

as i asked is there a more advanced program? so one suggested toast (for the mac) but others suggest toast and creator are functionally the same.

is there a more advanced dvd authoring program i coulc trade up to??
:)
