mad.gif I just had this software sent overnight-Sat delivery... I did a lot of research prior to buying and now I've finally got it.  I was hoping for a better first post...

I installed it on my new Sony AR290 vaio - which also has BluRay drive/support. Installs fine, but when I try launching the app, I get runtime errors (ie: A Runtime Error has occurred. Do you wish to Debug? Line: 921 Error: Library not registered). I think it's starting to prompt an activation screen if I click past the prompts, but the text/graphics are missing. I have to restart or close the process via "ctrl-alt-del".

I also tried uninstalling through add/remove programs and re-installing - same deal.

I also tried installing it on my larger edius editor (no bluray drive yet installed) and the same thing happened. Lastly, I installed it on my girlfriend's laptop (no blu drive) and the same thing. All systems are Windows XP

I can't figure out what's wrong - but it's a MAJOR disappointment.  I thought at first that it was running into other software conflicts - but on three machines?

Can you please let me know of resolutions you know of?  I was really looking forward to testing this product this weekend.

Thanks.

I have the same problem. I have read that A Roxio guy by the name of Scott knows the fix for the problem, but I don't know how to find him. If anyone knows, Please send me his E-mail address.

Just wanted to say:

Scott sent me an email on Saturday and got me up and running.  It's apparently an issue with an install/certificate file that needed to be swapped out.

I can't say enough for his EXCELLENT customer service.  I really thought I was going to be hosed over the weekend.

Many thanks - Many kudos!

Gee, thanks guys for posting the fix here so others could resolve the same issue!!!  Isn't that what these forums are supposed to be for?

Are you being sarcastic?...

What do you recommend that I post - the specific file that only works for my machine/authentication?  Contact Scott - that's the resolution.

If it's as common a problem as it seems, why doesn't Roxio post some kind of solution here or at LEAST acknowledge the problem and address it instead of hiding behind a bankers hours phone number.  I'm #$^@ tired of being a beta tester for all these software companies.  I paid for a download version so I could download and USE the software that I PAID FOR!  Now I'm stuck with crap that don't work and no explanations ANYWHERE on this website!  If I wanted to throw away my money I'd give it to the Democratic National Convention!
I guess I'll just call my credit card company who IS providing customer service right now and cancel this transaction!

I am also encountering runtime errors. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the software several times today, but am soon confronted with crashes and hangs. My project involves 5.1 (already encoded as an ac3) and a previously DVDit-encoded mpeg file (it originated as a large video-only Quicktime file - 108GB). A deadline is approaching ... help, please!

if it is a runtime error when when importing assets or using the timeline, something has gotten corrupted in your installation.  do a google search for "clean install DVDit 5" and it will give you instructions for uninstalling, cleaning out your registry and cleaning the Roxio/Sonic shared folder.  If it was working before, chances are if you do that and reinstall, you will be up and running again.

I have other Sonic software (MyDVD LE etc) already preinstalled on my Dell notebook. Is this causing a conflict with the installation? huh.gif

Tried the advice given on the google search for "clean install DVDit 5", but nothing seems to work. Uninstalled all my sonic software and followed the instructions but still get the 921 error. Help!!! mad.gif
