Anyone wanting to get EMC 9 working on Vista needs to make sure they uninstall the update 932246, as well as the already documented update 929427. I discovered this because EMC 9 stopped working again on my system, and by trial and error I discovered that it was the new 932246 update that was blocking the sonic driver, just as update 929427 had previously been blocking it.

The symptoms I experience when these compatibility updates are blocking the sonic driver is that my DVD drive becomes completely unusable. I can't eject, view anything in the Explorer, etc.

My guess is that EMC 9 users just have to keep aware that periodic Vista compatibility updates will continue to block the Sonic driver, and will thus just have to keep removing these updates every month or so to get their DVD drive working again.

Any more proof needed for those who think it's Roxio's fault? This is why you should either wait many months after an OS comes out or just learn to work around problems like these instead of blaming vendors.
