We're having a problem involving the burning of DVD's. Whenever we click to burn, the program always freezes. Is there any way to fix this problem? And when we try to copy DVD's using the copying program, it always says "error illegal...." It didn't do this before and we're not sure what's wrong. Can someone please help!

First of all, are your graphics drivers up to date? The program uses the graphics card as part of the rendering process so current drivers, along with the latest DirectX 9.0c are essential.
Again, do a spyware/malware sweep and also close down any running apps as these can also interfere in rendering.
The copying problem - if the DVDs you are trying to copy are commercial movies, the program will NOT do that (it's illegal under the DRM legislation)

yes, we did spyware and everything to check for viruses, but it's strange because up till now (we had made a lot more dvds before) its been acting up.
and as for the illegal copying problem, we aren't trying to copy commercial movies, and we had copied a lot of the same kinds of dvds before, and successfully too.

Have you installed any new programs or updates since it worked last? I'm thinking especially of Internet Explorer 7 and Media Player 11. These have caused problems with some people.

What about MS updates? If you have that set to automatic, you may have installed IE7 wityhout asking for it

Go to help, about in Internet Explorer and it tells you the version number. To remove it and roll back to IE6, go to add/remove programs in control panel and it will be listed there. Uninstalling it will bring 6 back as default (it's still there). Also check the version of Media Player (same way - 'help, about')
