I just imported a MPEG file and added text to it using Roxio. Now I want to save the file.
The Roxio program keeps saving it as a DMSD format. That's not what I want. I want to be able to save my edited video files as AVI, MPEG or any other format of my choice.

What am I doing wrong?

He could only be using MyDVD. When you save your Project in MyDVD, it is always a dmsd file. The only thing saved is a series of "notes" as to what files are used, their location and what you want the final project to look like.

Your actual files are never altered in any way, hence the Power of non-linear editing…

Likewise you do not need any specific format and you can mix and match various video picture formats within a project. It is only when you burn that everything will be rendered in the format needed for the project selected.

IF you actually have a need to convert format (most folks do not) you should be working in VideoWave.

Instead of saving a Project in VW (dmsm) you would choose Output As and pick the format of your choice.
Dell 8300 3.0ghz 1.5gb RAM 300gb & 200gb HDs
