Hi guys and girls.

First posting in these forums so firstly let me say hi.

Name is Neil, 34 from basingstoke in Hampshire, UK. I have an Adaptec AVC-2010 capture card and currently using MyDVD 5.x I also use Cyberlink PowerProducer for editing.

Just reinstaleld my PC and decided its time for an upgrade with regards to my DVD editing software and to hopefully use one package for capture, editing, DVD burning and also buring audio CD's, capturing old audio cassettes onto CD etc etc.

From the look sof things EMC9 looks ideal! Just the ticket! I just looked at the list of supported capture cards and mine is listed! Yipee! But then I noticed under TV Standards that it only lists NTSC and we are PAL here in the UK.

I remember, under MyDVD5 I could select between PAL and NTSC. I obviously used PAL.

I have just called the Roxio support line and the guy there "thinks" it should work in PAL without any problems if it worked under MyDVD5. I just wondered if anyone else on these forums is using this card in PAL mode with success? I dont really want to buy a new capture card as I have only had it 2 years!

Any help and support received with thanks.

Neil

Hiya

Thankyou very much for that. I asked the guy on the phone if there was a trial version and he said no!

Is the trial version restricted in anyway or is it just time limited? I guess I can just buy a serial number when ready, register it and it will be a full version.

Thanks once again for your help.

I believe it is only time limited.  Make sure you have updated your video card drivers and DirectX (feb2007).  Also check the minimum requirements for EMC 9!!!  Videowave and MyDVD 9 are much more demanding on the hardware than previous versions.

Hi

Just to let you know and any other guys/girls who may have the same question... The Adaptec AVC-2010 seems to work OK and you can select all the NTSC/PAL regions fine.
