I installed EMC 9 on my brand new Dell PC, with dual core pentium processessor, and 2 GB RAM, running Windows Vista.  When I try to run any EMC applications, I get the following error in a popup window: "Please wait while Windows configures Roxio Easy Media Creator Suite."  I have tried uninstalling, and reinstalling the program, with the same result.  In addition, many basic application functions, like cropping photos in PhotoSuite, return unrecoverable Windows runtime errors, accompanied by program crashes.  Once again, this is a brand new machine, with very little in the way of preinstalled software for EMC 9.0 to be conflicting with.   I really do not understand how EMC 9 could possibly have passed its Windows Vista compatability testing.

Check that Dell didn't install any Roxio/Sonic apps on the computer. They do issue an OEM version of some of them and they have to be removed before the suite is installed
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

Thanks, yes, that was what the reinstall was all about.  I uninstalled all Roxio products, and then reinstalled the EMC 9 Suite, with the same result.

"Please wait while Windows configures Roxio Easy Media Creator Suite." is not an error message.  You might see it sit there for 15-20 minutes before it starts installing.  Don't forget to delete drag to disk after the install.

I cannot install EMC 9 on my new Dell PC running Windows Vista.  When I try, a small dialogue box signals an Internal Error, code 03E9.800070002.  I've tried disabling Windows Defender, and Firewall, with no luck.  I've searched the Roxio database, and cannot find this particular error code.  Anyone have any ideas about what it means?

What's on the Dell already?  Might it already have an OEM version of EMC on it?  You might try the Dell forums as well.

The Dell had an OEM version of EMC 9, that did not have all the features of the full version, so I removed it via add/remove programs before trying to load the full version.  That was a mistake, since now I can not run EMC at all!

reinstall your Windows installer?

Why?  I have installed at least a dozen other programs, and they all work flawlessly.  EMC 9 is the only program that won't install.

new user account?

To what account are you referring?

I think he's suggesting that you try creating a new user account and using that new account, try to install EMC.

I had the same problem with my new Hp. If you go to Roxio Support and type in "clean install" in the search bar it will take you to a page with realted issues. Look for the link that starts w/ 000114CR. Click on it. The next page that appears, scroll to the bottom part of the page and click on "clean install for Windows Vista".
If you follow these instructions you will be able to install EMC9 without incident.
Regards,

Gordon
