Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 Deluxe Suite, Includes Dazzle DVC90 interface
New HP Pavilion Desktop Computer, 2G Memory, 800G Hard Drive, Vista operating system
Sony Digital 8 Handycam, DCR-TRV510 NTSC
Camera is connected to Dazzle with 3-wire composite (L audio, R audio, Video) cable
Dazzle is plugged into one of six USB2 ports

I have a ton of home movies on HI-8 cassette tapes to transfer to DVD media, hopefully using my Handycam as the input device.  Opening Roxio Creator, I select the “Video” option, then the “Capture Video” tab.  The video from the tape copies great, but there is no associated sound.  The only sound I hear comes from the camera, none from the computer.  As a test, I had no problems copying both video and audio using the computer’s TV tuner as the source device.  Any suggestions?

Why are you using the Dazzle?  Your camcorder has iLink which is the samething as firewire.  All you need is a firewire cable and a firewire port on the computer.  You would get MUCH BETTER quality than capturing through the Dazzle!

I when through your manual online and found the port.  The example shows a VCR with firewire, but same applies to a computer.  Media Import works great with firewire, too.  You can capture the Hi8mm tape this way, too!  That's what I did with my TRV740 and some old 8mm analog tape.

Secod image is a close up of my camcorder and computer ports.

FIrewire works great.
Thank's ... now on an exponential Roxio learning curve.  Already copying, edetinog, and creading DVD movies.  Great software with tons of options.
